IFGA Acknowledges FGASA Statement

​

The International Field Guide Association (IFGA) acknowledges the statement issued by the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa (FGASA) and confirms that the matter between FGASA, Bushwise and IFGA is now concluded.

IFGA welcomes the clarification provided regarding the regulatory and professional landscape for field guiding in South Africa, particularly the confirmation that professional membership is voluntary and that guides may choose their preferred affiliations without restriction.

We believe a healthy guiding sector is strengthened by choice, transparency and cooperation, and we support an environment in which training providers and professional bodies contribute positively and independently to guide development.

IFGA looks forward to continued constructive engagement that supports professional mobility, high standards and the long-term sustainability of field guiding in South Africa and internationally.
